Calibration/Metrology Specialist

The Calibration/Metrology Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the day to day operational needs and goals of the calibration program are being met.
Work independently to create a robust Calibration Data Management System.
Provide direction and leadership in establishing and maintaining a Measurement Assurance Program.
Assist with selecting and auditing Calibration Vendors.
Manage and post internal and external audit activities related to calibration. Assist with defending calibration program during external audits.
Schedule calibrations and PMs within department to ensure all are performed by their due date.
Assist with instrument selection and as required assist in the purchase of instruments to meet calibration requirements.
Create/Review/Approve internal operating procedures and non-conformance reports through document control software.Master Control.
Provide technical support to calibration technicians.
Write detailed reports for project assignments, including and as necessary, historical backgrounds, theoretical basis, root cause analysis, and recommendations.
Develop techniques as necessary to ascertain that newly acquired or developed Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) performs in accordance with required specifications.
Develop recommendations for solving M&TE hardware and measurement problems.
Perform skilled calibrations, troubleshooting and repair of M&TE (electrical, temperature, pressure, flow, etc.).
Develop appropriate correction factors and curves for calibration data.
Interact with all levels of management across functions, business units, and project teams to provide guidance and input on metrology/calibration topics. Identifies requirements; helps to resolve issues in a timely manner.
Represents Merz in regulatory inspections, third party relationships, industry discussion groups & external benchmarking with regard to calibration.
A Bachelor's Degree in Metrology, Physics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent, and a minimum of five years experience in Metrology/Calibration or an Associate Degree in Metrology, Physics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent, and eight years experience is required.
Experience in a pharmaceutical/chemical or other regulated cGMP/cGLP environment is highly desired.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
