Product Specialist

Description  Position Overview: The person in this position would be considered as a resident expert of our Low Voltage Variable Frequency Drives (LV VFD) for our Benshaw and UNICO brands. The person will be responsible for researching and analyzing product performance, features attributes comparison of our current product portfolio as well as the competitive landscape. The person will have good understanding of the VFD application needs and the strengths and the weaknesses of our products. The candidate may also need to travel to support the sales team by providing the technical and commercial support on the BENSHAW and UNICO products. Job Responsibilities: LV VFD Expert: Research and analyze VFD performance, features and attributes for current offering, competitive landscape. Serve as the resident expert for our LV VFD for our BENSHAW and UNICO brands. Benchmark Testing: Perform benchmark testing, product comparisons, specification comparisons and specification development Application Engineering: Understand, evaluate and develop customer applications. Show a level of expertise to effectively communicate with specifying engineers, plant engineers, integrators, contractors and sellers as required. Participates in meetings (kickoff and other) with various departments to develop solutions Training & Seminars: Present VFD operational seminars in a classroom environment utilizing multimedia tools, deliver adequate training to both customers and fellow service staff to provide training on the basic fundamentals of the LV VFD Product Families. Knowledge Database: Maintains a knowledge database where FAQs and other encountered challenges that are encountered with customers Customer Interaction: Assist customer with advanced technical questions about products and applications of the VFD. Field Troubleshooting: Provide onsite support to resolve complicated customer issues.  Using multi-meter, hand tools and basic to mid-level electrical theory, diagnose and resolve control and instrumentation issues at the customers sites General Documentation: Create or edit procedures and best practices related to start-up, installation, troubleshooting, configuration, etc. Prepare test reports, field visit reports, etc.   Qualifications   Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology or applicable work experience Minimum 5 years of experienceworking with LV VFD in Application/Engineering/Design with aspirations to transition to Product Management as a career path. Ability to travel 10 -20% of the time Strong technical skills related to electrical engineering and power electronics. Knowledge of basic Electrical Concepts, VFD's and Soft starters, Motor Control Theory. Ability to interpret specifications, electrical schematics, drawings, mathematical equations formulas. Experience with different types of motors - Induction Motor Permanent Magnet Motors, Switch Reluctance Motors etc. ranging from small HP to large HP. Familiar with different communication protocols such as Modbus RTU, BACNET, Ethernet, EtherCAT, etc Organizational and project management skills, detail oriented and strong proof reading and communication skills both written and verbal, together with the ability to meet tight deadlines. Action oriented, proactive in prioritizing own work load and communicating with others. Computer skills: MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) / AutoCAD an asset. Teamwork skills - must be at ease to interact with others Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and listening) and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse group of professionals. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
