Engineer - Calibration and Reliability

The Engineer ? Calibration and Reliability is mainly responsible for the integrity of the calibration process and to ensure all documentation and procedures are up-to-date and cover all regulatory requirements. Other responsibilities include the improvement of asset reliability through predictive maintenance, analysis of data collected, risk assessments or other reliability related techniques or processes.
Major duties
Calibration Process Design and Reliability
Assist with design of various systems for proper calibration and reliability functions.
Standard Work Development
Provide direction and leadership in establishing and maintaining a Measurement Assurance Program.
Instrument Selection
Assist with instrument selection and, as required, assist in the purchase of instruments to meet calibration requirements.
SOP Development and Report Creation
Create/Review/Approve internal operating procedures and nonconformance reports through document control software.
Work with production to perform analyses of assets including:
Asset Utilization
Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
Remaining useful life
Other parameters that define operating condition, reliability and cost of asset
Reliability and Troubleshooting
Develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and problems that adversely affect plant operations (calibration and maintenance) using tools such as: Statistical process control, Reliability modeling and prediction, Fault tree analysis, Weibull analysis, Six Sigma (6s) methodology, Root cause analysis (RCA) and root cause failure analysis (RCFA), and/or Failure reporting, analysis and corrective action system (FRACAS).
Analysis & Reporting
Perform data analysis, forecasting, gage R&R and other related studies.
Deliver results according to defined individual and departmental KPI?s.
Audit Support
Assist with selecting and auditing calibration vendors.
Manage and post internal and external audit activities related to calibration.
Assist with defending calibration program during external audits.
Technical Support
Provide technical support to calibration technicians, production, maintenance management and engineering.
Schedule calibrations and PMs within department to ensure all are performed by their due date Perform skilled calibrations, troubleshooting and repair of Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE).
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical or equivalent -Preferred
Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical or equivalent - Required
Professional experience
Minimum one year experience in Calibration or Reliability (process or production) and a Bachelor's Degree - Required
Three to five years' Calibration/Reliability experience in a food, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated environment, and a Bachelor's Degree. -Preferred
Minimum of eight (8) years' experience in Calibration or Reliability and an Associate's Degree. -Preferred
Knowledge, skills and abilities (incl. languages)
Technical Writing Skills - Required
ASQ Calibration Technician Certification -Preferred
Knowledge of ISO 17025 -Preferred
Six sigma green belt -Preferred
Personal skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Required
Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software programs - Required
Must be able to pass vision testing requirements (with or without corrective eyewear).
20/20 Near Acuity Vision
Driver license required.
Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
